It was a very special day and definitely not the type of excursion that normal tourists experience. It was more a quiet drive to special viewpoints from where we had the possibility to see the island from a very different perspective. Alain, our guide was very competent, very friendly and explained a lot of things; the political situation, nature, the Mauritians, the economy etc. The lunch at a local family was a real treat and we got to experience what the Mauritians eat and how they live.
